应急管理是国家治理体系和治理能力的重要组成部分，承担着及时应对处置各类灾害事故、防范化解重大安全风险的重要职责。因此建设应急管理学科是推进国家治理体系和治理能力现代化的重要一环。2020年4月，为了推进应急管理学科的发展，国务院学位办发布了加强应急管理学科建设的通知。自此，国内各高校纷纷推进应急管理学科建设。但是，应急管理学科交叉性强、学科话语多元，各院校在推进应急管理学科建设的过程中面临着一个普遍且迫切的问题：应急管理学应建设形成怎样的研究和知识范畴？美国应急管理学发展近半个世纪，了解其研究现状、知识构成与联系，可为我国应急管理学科发展提供参考。本研究以美国高校应急管理专业为切入点，通过“专业-学者-文献”的检索方法获取了美国应急管理学2011-2020年间发表的文献，采用基于“参考文献+关键词”论文相似度的文献耦合分析方法对文献进行了分析。研究发现，美国应急管理学围绕自然灾害、事故灾难、公共卫生事件、社会安全事件等研究领域研究了灾害韧性、病毒防护、恐怖主义、环境污染等22个研究主题。各个研究主题因为对事件机理、事件的社会意义和方法技术三方面的需求吸引了众多学科的学者，具有显著的多学科交叉特征。各个研究领域和研究主题之间的知识联系具有明显的割裂特征，但后五年呈现出融合趋势。本研究为我国应急管理学科的规划者和建设者提供了有益信息，同时也能帮助我国研究灾害和应急管理的学者更好地了解美国应急管理学界研究全貌，方便学者将自身研究与之进行比较、定位和对话，为我国应急管理学研究的本土化创新提供了参考。

This study aims to understand the multidisciplinary field of emergency management (EM) in the U.S. by analyzing its knowledge structure and knowledge linkages. Using a novel analysis framework based on the conceptual basis of knowledge structure of the EM field and bibliographic coupling clustering, we find that EM research consists of a total of 22 research topics across five research areas, including pandemic mitigation, terrorism, disaster resilience, environmental pollution, risk communication, etc. These research topics have attracted scholars from diverse disciplines, and studies in these research topics also appear in these disciplines’ journals. Public administration (PA) scholars play a relatively minor role in contributing to the EM field, although EM is a recognized sub-discipline within PA. We also find that knowledge linkages between EM research topics are weak, suggesting that the EM field is largely fragmented. Fortunately, there are signs of increased knowledge integration in recent years.
